GreenKeyers - - -
The beta version of ITTY Autostart is now in operation.
The receiving parameters are as follows:
Copying -
The address for listening is 65.243.191.51:/8030.listen.pls
It rides the same IP address as ITTY's regular channel, but uses
ports 8030 and 8031.
Format is when a message item is placed in the queue the system will
turn on "carrier", run a few seconds of "LTRS" and then proceed to
run a short header, the message which has been submitted, a short
footer, and then the "carrier" drops out.
The ITTY Autostart TU is an Electrocom 400 driving a 28 KSR, and it
works fine.
Transmitting/submitting messages -
Transmitting from your location into the Autostart system is a bit
different.
The e-mail that must be submitted must use port 594 or port 595. The
recent discovery that e-mail port 25 is now pretty much being
shutdown throughout the internet has caused a revision in how e-mail
must be set up, in that you must now configure your SMTP mail handler
to use port 594 or 595 to transmit your data. Many modems and routers
may have to be configured for port forwarding of ports 594 and 595.
The good news is that our K7TTY Sofware GURU is coming up with a new
version of the mailer with a built in message composer/editor that
will allow preparing a message within the mailer itself, as opposed
to having to import a message from from another file. The message
when complete can then be sent directly from the mailer. The new
mailer will be made available at Bill's Software Lab on RTTY.com, or
from the K7TTY website.
The new mailer will also limit line length to 68 characters for the
convenience of those using a machine set up for foreign standard line
lengths.
Merry Xmas from K7TTY and W7TTY
