[GreenKeys] A quiet Teletype Model 15

Some time back, I was discussing mounting a Teletype Model 15
on shock mounts. I've now done this, and it works nicely.
I'm using the Lord mounts from a standard Teletype operating
table, but I built a base out of 20ga galvanized steel that
sits on a table and holds the shock mounts the same way the
operating table does.
The mounting bolts for a Teletype Model 15 are 3/8-28, which
is a nonstandard thread size today. But you can get a tap for that
thread from Machine Shop Discount ("msdiscount.com"):
Description: 3/8-28 X 1" O.D.
Item #: 1524281
Unit Price : $9.85
So I bought some longer bolts, cut them off below the thread,
and rethreaded for 28 threads per inch. I made spacers
to separate the machine from the base, so the machine rests
entirely on the shock mounts.
The loudest noise, running the Teletype without a case, is the keys
hitting the paper. Idling, it just purrs.
This will be shown at the Steampunk Exhibition in March.
