[GreenKeys] Model 26 help needed

Kevin,

You should look for a copy of "The New RTTY Handbook" It has
all of the Model 26 wiring in it. The table holds the paper
in the bottom and it feeds up the back top edge through a slot to the
26. It's a very clunky setup. You could modify the 15 table.
The 26 table aslo accomodated the shock mounts on the bottom
of the 26 base, but you can work around that.

Also check out www.rtty.com. There might be some Model 26
info on the website.

Parts for a 26 are probably in the "unobtanium" realm...

Jack

Subject: [GreenKeys] Model 26 help needed

I need some help on a Model 26 I just acquired. It is a Bell System
machine. The serial number appears to be 3208. It is a Type 26-B
Typing
Unit. Externally it looks exactly like the machine shown in the video
on
YouTube.

I need manuals if anyone has any to spare or loan for making copies
(or,
if there are any posted online). I may need connectors and wires also
if
possible. If anyone has an "extra" 26A table they would like to get
rid
of I would be in the market! hihi The table that I got and thought
went
with the 26 is actually a 15N. Or, could that be used for the 26 as
well?

I have a copy of Bell System Practices Teletypewriter Station
Installation
and Maintenance, Section P91.011, 26TTY - 26A Table Local Attended TWX
Service wiring diagram but that's all I have for this machine.

I may need a parts list as well. I assume that the paper supply went
on
the outside of the case. There is no paper rack, holder, winder,
etc.,
with the machine I acquired.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kevin Phillips
