Intersting to think about.  It's roughly 200' to my telco interface, then
another 700' or so the junction box on the street and several miles to the
CO on cotton wrapped wires, 52K is never a problem here.

Well, as long as the connection method is a telephone modem, 56K or less,
the extra 300 feet shouldn't make any difference. Even if it falls back
to 14.4K Considering the distance back to the central office.
