Hi Everyone,
Well, at least as of yesterday, I managed to hook up the Model 15, Model 14 TD, and Model 14 Typing Reperforator without electrocuting myself at the former Wabash depot in Ferguson, MO (north suburb of St. Louis, MO).
Punched some tape using the Model 15 keyboard, played it back thru the TD, and wasted lots of ink and paper running the "fox box" pattern generator. All the restaurant patrons in the depot loved it!
So...we're a "go" for the Morse Telegraph Club's Annual Morse Day celebration on Saturday (from 11:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.)
If you're in the St. Louis area, why not stop by and say hi. I'll likely press you into service answering questions of our visitors, chasing young children away from the equipment, and mopping up oil I've sprayed all over the customers. The Wabash RR depot is at 1 Carson Rd. in Ferguson and depot phone number is (314) 521-1600. Come hungry and eat at the restaurant in the depot.
There are many, many people I have to thank for getting this equipment together and running:
* Howard Weeks who got the whole thing off the ground by taking my Model 15 that was frozen solid so that it wouldn't even run "open" and got it operating.
* Jack Hart who troubleshot and resolved an insidious problem that had us all scratching our heads for months (worn cam). Jack also tutored me for hours in the fine art of how these machines work, helped me get hooked up to ITTY and use the HAL ST-6 modem (plus about a million other things)
* Tom Tillson who sent me ink and felts for the re-inker
* Leanne Bradley who sent me manuals
* Someone who I can't remember (Roy Morgan?) sent me a ribbon
* The entire list that patiently helped me and answered questions while I tried to learn as much as possible.
I'm sure there are dozens of other people who gave me individual assistance when I needed it that I'm forgetting to thank. I've lost track of all the people who helped me. There were so many.
I'm very grateful to all of you and I'll try not to strangle myself with punched tape on Saturday.

Derek Cohn
