[GreenKeys] Model 14 Typing Reperforator

I assume the primary reason for Teletype Corp.'s chadless tape was to
provide an area where the message could be typed and then read (without
knowing the code). (Secondary reason would have been to minimize the chad
mess.)
The early M14 "vertical" (aka "single magnet") reperforator punched full
holes but did not type. The AWA Museum has a M28 style keyboard perforator
(LKPE 500BSF) that just punches tape (no printing) and punches full holes.
(It has a "vacuum cleaner" run by the motor to such the chad into a bin.)
It is probably safe to say that all M14 & M28 TYPING (re)perforators
produce chadless tape; but not all (re)perforators in general.
Does the fact that Teletype Corp produced both full and partial punch
perforators imply that there were problems reading the chadless tape?? I
don't have much experience with this; maybe some of our more experienced
Teletype people can comment.
Kleinschmidt Laboratories initially used a wider 7/8" tape and printed
along the side of the perforations. I do not belive that they ever
produced a chadless tape perforator. The KLI tape readers were all made
such that they could use either the Teletype 11/16" or the KLI 7/8" tape.
The later KLI TT-345 & -346 reperforators could use both types of tape and
printed over the sprocket holes.
have fun,
