OOPS! That should read "NORTHERN RADIO"!
That make more sense?
------------------------------------------------------------
This was a subject a couple years ago i think but i don't remember getting a resolution to it. I have a Northern Radio Model 102 Tone keyer but no manual.
Any help out there?
I have a Model 115 manual but no unit.
In my model 105 tone keyer manual they tell me that you can use hand keying, current loop or voltage to operate the signal generating mechanism. Well why hand keying? Were they possibly used for Modulated CW or better know as A2? While i don't think the tone is adjustable, like with a knob, there is a switch on the front of the 102 that allows you to select different tones, or is it
center frequencies? Have to read that part of the book.
My thoughts are that one of these could be used in a beacon. Of course i know things are more modern these days but still i wouldn't have to scrap them out for pieces. Lots of 6SN7, 12AU7 and 12AX7 tubes available as well as some nice
power transformers, a nince meter and some good control pieces.
I'll probably bring a couple of these spare units and manuals to MRCG in San
Luis Obispo in a couple weeks.
My truck is filling up nicely.
