Telegrapher Larry asked to read this again, so here it is...

The last time I made radio-teletype communications contact was with a
MITE in a Navy P2V-5F patrol plane in 1963.
The last time I made a voice radio communications contact was in a
Navy P3A patrol plane in 1965.

George Hutchison inspired me to become a HAM... that is an Amateur
Radio Operator... I was already a ham.

I took the no code Technician exam in 2005 and passed.
I took the General exam in 2007 and passed.
I have yet to make any contacts on the air with either of these
licenses.

For four years now I have been slowly working to obtain, restore and
install a complete circa 1973 U.S. Navy AN/URC-35B Radio Set.

Most of my experience with Teletype machines was with the Illinois
Bell Telephone Company between 1966 and 1970
I started the North American Data Communications Museum in 1984
following divestiture of the Bell System
I retired from Ameritech in 1996 and moved the museum to Fallbrook
California in 1996 where I was employed by several telecommunications
manufacturers.
I retired again in 2002 after a stress induced heart attack in 2001.
My wife demanded that we move back to Illinois which we did in 2002.

We combined NADCOMM with the Computer Museum of America in 2000
Between 2000 and 2005 we supported the making of four motion pictures
by providing and operating IBM Card Punch, IBM Card Sorter, Teletype
and Facsimile machines.
Secrets, Lies, and Atomic Spies, PBS NOVA, Tug Yourgrau, Director
The Fog of War, Sony Pictures Classics, Errol Morris, Director
    Bobby, MGM, Emilio Estevez, Director
Flags of our Fathers, Warner Brothers, Clint Eastwood, Director
The Computer Museum of America became the San Diego Computer Museum in
2004
The San Diego Computer Museum was deeded to the San Diego State
University Library in 2006 due to lack of funding

In addition to George Hutchison, I am indebted to many other
Greenkeyers for their kind assistance over the years.
In addition to the large collection of data communications equipment
at SDSU, I have accumulated a large personal collection here in Illinois
My XYL is anxious for me to part with the majority of it so I am not
sure what will happen next.
Due to the current economic crisis I am now searching again for a
job. This time I hope to use my skills in desktop publishing.
