OK, I guess I will take my turn on this.

As a kid always liked radio receivers and tuning in far away stations.

USAF training in 1964 for crypto maintenance got me into the comm center and
we used a 28 KSR for maintenance purposes. Western Union was prime contractor
on some of our systems, so got to know the WU tech.

Got a job at Western Union, Springfield, MA, in 1968. Learned TTY repair.
Went to 33 school at Teletype in Chicago in about 1969 or so. Worked on lots
of TTY, 2B, 15, 28, 32, 33, 35, 28 style stock tickers, clocks, fax and lots
more stuff.

While at WU in Wichita, KS, attended night school for electronics and RF.
Got my First Class License in 1973. It changed to the General Radiotelephone in
1985, I think.

Used the license working for Vermont Public TV for 25 years off and on, quit
a couple times to run my own business selling and servicing TTY in Vermont and
surrounding area. Always working at it part time while at VPT.

Anybody bored yet?

Most of the guys I worked with at VPT were hams and I finally got my
Technician amateur license in 2000.

Passed Element 3 for General in 2006 and worked on my code. Took the test
about 360 days later in Feb or Mar 2007 and failed by one letter. The code
requirement was being dropped two days later and I got my General without retaking
the written by a margin of 3 days.

Really enjoying the HF DX as well as the local ham club. Do some RTTY, but
still using a 32 ASR, no computer.

The guys on Greenkeys are the best with tech help and parts at low prices.
Keep up the good work.
