ARO NØJCF since 1988. Was TECH until 2002 when I upgraded to EXTRA.
I'm on here mostly for TTYs hooked to computers. Although I am radio
active, it's weak signal VHF, UHF and microwave stuff and TTYs don't
factor in.
I have restored a model 33 with a lot of help from folks on this list
and that goes along with an Altair 680b that has also been restored.
I'm still working on getting the melted rubber bands off the vast
collection of paper tapes that go with it.
I first used a model 33 in 7th grade (1975) when they were everywhere in
the schools around here (MN) tied to the state-wide timesharing system
called TIES (and later MECC) with acoustic coupled modems.
Anyway, I build supercomputers now and playing with this older technology
is refreshing and rewarding.
That guy advertising those HAL ST-8000A may still hear from me...
73, Chris NØJCF
