Kevin,
Does the machine print the 0 or 9 as it's carraige returning? What is the range of the
selector? Where is it set? What is the source of the test signal? Can you see the
correct character set up on the selector? Does the problem show up at
machine speed or even when typing the character by hand?
The 15's functions are "decoded" by function bars that are behind the horizontal
character setup code bars. If there is some sort of obstruction of one of the
code bars at a certain position of the carraige, that could cause the CAR RET
function bar to select.
It's hard to diagnose via email, but maybe the above might give you a few ideas.
