Yes, I have seen some pricey lenses out there.  I'm sure they are 
great.  I'd just like to find a somewhat decent price lens that will 
fit the bill.  I can live with some distortion in the corners, and 
even some color changes (as I do a lot in photoshop anyway).  Even a 
little curvature wouldn't bother me.  But it needs to focus fast and 
be reliable.  Some folks have recommended other brands that I will look into.

Yes, I need to experiment a bit.  Good suggestion.  I am coming from 
a camera where the whole body was blurred, so I wanted to stop the 
action completely.  But I will try that.

Yeah, flash not allowed in the gyms, else a mo-fo external strobe 
would already be in my bag.
