Actually, if it had an AN/FCC designator, I believe it was for fixed 
service, or shore based. Something that large would never have fit in 
the radio room on a destroyer. The AN/UCC is universal service, and 
there were other designators for equipment designed primarily for 
shipboard, aircraft, portable and wheeled vehicle use. Someone posted a 
link to some reference material for those a while back, but I can't put 
my finger on it right now.
