[GreenKeys] Teletype ASR33 problem -help

A few questions.  Is it or was it typing correctly before the carriage stuck? 
 Make sure the carriage belt tab didnt jump over the stop tab on the left 
side of the printer.  That would be an easy one.  Check the return spring to make 
sure its still connected to the carriage and the base of the printer.  
 
When you do find the trouble, dont let the carriage go back without holding 
it so it returns carefully the first time and makes it into the dashpot once.  
 
If its typing correctly, CR is 1348 marking pulses and you can see them by 
looking on the left side codebars extensions,  just behind the punch if you have 
the cover off.  Or you can turn on the tape punch and see if it punches 1348. 
 Sometimes, the CR pawl spring breaks and that may be your trouble.  With the 
cover off, you can manually return the carriage by pulling forward on the 
white metal tab at the bottom of the left carriage belt post.  Be sure to hold 
the carriage as noted above.   
 
If not typing correctly, then the lack of CR is just incidental to your main 
problem.  
 
Get back again if none of this helps.
