Hi folks:
You may remember seeing the Teletype Museum Tour narrated by Ransom
Slayton. The narration is at:
<www.baudot.net/docs/slayton--tty-museum.pdf>
Some of us got a DVD of the slide-show tour, which a fellow was sending out
about a year ago. It was great to hear the actual sound of Mr. Slayton's
voice, and see some of the early and unusual machines, but the slides on
the video were rather dark, and difficult to see.
I have since received a copy of the slide set, scanned from the original
slides, which are at the IEEE History center -- a big thanks to Maryann
Hoffman, who had been planning to get me a copy for a couple of years. It
took some time to procure a scanner, and actually get the scanning done,
but it was definitely worth the wait.
Now, I want to re-create the slide show, using the audio from the DVD, and
the high-quality scans from the original slides. A good project for my new
mac.
I'll let you know when I get it done. Pretty cool to find something tucked
away for so many years!
