And while I'm in a telegraph history mood.....

A friend in the UK has kindly sent me a scan of the Post Office 
Technical Pamphlet for Workmen B6 on the Baudot Multiplex Type-printing 
System. It's a very clear explanation of how it works and how the ends 
are kept in synchromism.

I've spent some time making a digital recreation of it which is only 349
