I have a couple of spring scales - but they are of the "generic" type 
(i.e. not push/pull) and not really appropriate ranges (one is 10 pounds 
by 4oz. - the other is 4.5 pound by 1oz.) - better than nothing - but 
barely.

My original 1950 28 Navy book lists tools separately (I think it was 
published before the kits were assembled)... and it lists four scales - 
64 oz., 32 oz., 8 oz., and a 70 gm scale. This kit has a 15 lb., a 2 
lb., a 1 lb, an 8 oz., and a 70gm scale. So it's apparently not the 
"same" but as I noted - closer than what I have - so close enough!
