[GreenKeys] Teleprinter demo project

I've done something similar for a couple of museums. I did use a PC -
in one case it was an old PC-XT and in another case it was a later
model that the museum happened to have in the office anyway. I used
the old software named RTTY12G which you can find with google and
which is written in BASIC. This software was originally intended
for turning a PC into a "glass Teletype" for ham radio use. In one
case I modified it to start up automatically and print from a disk
file when the machine was powered up. In the other case I left it
unmodified and gave the museum directions for running it. It can
transmit from files on disk.

I had it set up with files of press wire news, so when it was running
it looked like you were getting the latest news right off the wire -
except the news was about whatever event the museum was featuring at
the time.

I haven't done it, but always intended to make a transparent cover
for the machine so that people can see all the working parts. I
have run the machine with no cover, but you have to be careful that
people don't stick their fingers or noses into the path of the
carriage.
