Please pardon the the off topic post, but you'd be helping me get a
piece of black-wrinkle painted gear back on the air. ;)
I've recently acquired some Navy TCS receivers and a transmitter. I've
found some cannon connectors for the powering receivers, and have one
working. (minus its BFO tho.)
Have not been able to locally track down a connector for the
transmitter, though. I figured someone on here might have one in a
junk box someplace!
If you're not familiar with this connector, or need a refresher, I can
send/post a picture. Seems to be a common enough item, I even have a
transistorized predecessor to the cell phone made by Motorola that
takes the exact same connector.
Also, I'm currently making attempts to repair some physical damage to
the transmitter, if anybody has the VFO variable capacitor assembly,
(from either receiver or transmitter) namely the shaft that has the
tuning knob on one end and the 90 degree drive worm-gear on the other.
I have a local source for a parts transmitter, but that transaction
isn't scheduled to take place until nearly August, and I'm hoping to
get it on the air before then. ;) I could "borrow" this piece from one
of the receivers, but I'm holding that as a last resort.
Thanks and 73!
