Jack,
Thanks for the truly original idea! Who would have thought that we could
use RADIO to send messages or even that the R in RTTY might have a some
sort of meaning! As a life member in the League I have been DOWN on the
Newington boys for several years for forgetting that little point. When
they started to subtly suggest in QST that you really didn't have to have
any expensive station to enjoy ham radio that was a bit too much for me.
Sorry, but I will never accept the VIRTUAL ionosphere! And keep in mind
that this comes from a person who is also not likely to give up my software
defined radios or any of the computers in my shack. But it does so happen
that the collection of old machines, carefully positioned to surround me in
the shack, occupy a very special place in my mind and have done so for
nearly 50 years now! Snap, Chunk and Oil forever!
