It does, it makes all the difference.  Rubout is the worst.

I'll take a look, but when I pull the clutch in manually the selector
cams turn very freely.

I cleaned off the old grease in that location and put a little
red&tacky there.  It looks like more than it is, but since it's so
close to the armature plate I'll clean the excess off.
