Bill Perry can be reached at 502-893-8724. He's EST. For newer stuff (mid
60's on), he's probably the best bet if you're looking for surplus prices
(which is not the same as saying 1950's prices). For older stuff there are a
number of us who have small stocks of a wide range of military and commercial grade
connectors. For the most part, none of us, Bill included, have any minimum
order rules which may not be the case with the commercial vendors.
FWIW (ref another post on this thread), the common tendency of various groups
to call connectors Amphenol plugs (or connectors), Cannon plugs, Bendix
connectors, Appleton connectors, etc, should generally be avoided if you are
looking for something. Depending upon what group you grew up in and what group the
person you're speaking with came up in, those terms can have either the same
or totally different meanings. The fact is that each of the contractors
mentioned made some of the same things and each made things the others never did.
So the contractor name doesn't adequately ID the part family. In short, you
should avoid using those four terms unless you are certain you know what they
mean to the person you're talking to. As an example, in the older geophysical
industry, most of the old Oil Patch, and the older commercial audio industries,
Cannon Plug meant a Cannon K-Series connector. Which probably few of you
have ever seen unless you're also into WW-II vintage Naval aircraft radios or the
TCS.
