The 33 was used as TWX by Ma Bell, but not sure when that started.  Jack will 
probably know.  I worked on some 33's that had 8K memory in pedestal and were 
used on TNC lathes at Jones & Lamson in Springfield, VT.  They had about 15 
at the factory and also provided them with some of the machines they 
manufactured.  Alden Self-transport made the memory I think.  It could convert ASCII to 
EIA and vice-versa.  EIA was the machine tool code, but slowly replaced with 
ASCII.
