Hi all,
Thanks Jim, Gil, Wayne, Jack and Bryan for the replies and especially for 
the info on the ASCII code which I found very interesting.
I had an idea it must have followed on somehow from Hollerith card code.
Does anyone know if the ASR 33 had any applications before it was used on 
DEC PDP8 and other computers of the day ?
Was this the first use of 8 bits?
It seems crazy now but you had a high spec machine if you had 8 k of memory!
