If you go to that Phillips switcher site you wrote about.  Click on  
the PERIPHERALS square button on the left it will show some photos of  
familiar machines.

Thanks, Henning and Jim Haynes, for identifying it as an Olivetti. I  
remember I owned an Olivetti at one time - must have been that one.  
The construction was awful! Built like a clock so you couldn't take it  
re-assemble it without some sort of jig to hold all the spindles still  
while you put the end plates on.

Doesn't hold a candle to Siemens and Creed (or Teletype come to that)  
for robust design.
