Hi Larry,
Those test distributors were intended to test the loop rather than the
machine. The Bell System version was called the 100A Test
Distributor. There are two of them at our museum.
They are supposed to have three gear sets inside for 60, 75, 100 WPM.
If no one else wants it, I would like to have it here in Ringwood.

A TS-658/UG Teletypewriter Test set. reminds me of a mod 14 tape
distributor in a box except there is not place to read the tape. What
you can do though is send any character you want by setting the toggle
switches up or down for the particular bit you want sent as a mark or
space. YOu can also introduce bias at 20% or end distortion and to
either Mark- none or Space. One output jack for inserting into a loop
jack. Really nice condition. I ran it for about an hour tonight just
to see what the motor sounded like and if there were any hard spots on
the distributor rings. Runs like a champ.
Anyone need it? Teletype Corp. 1954WD.
