ITTY is not broken, but the internet is!!!
I lost all e-mail input about 20 December.
ITTY was still functional for a time because the address that worked
was itty at 207.207.72.32.
I personally have not been able to send things to ITTY at that
address, or ITTY at readysetsurf for about four months.
The problem appears to revolve around the fact that my original
privider, readysetsurf.com, has been sold to several owners in a
series of transactions that resulted in control going from Seattle to
Dallas, one side of town in Dallas to another side of town in Dallas,
from Dallas to I think Ohio, and now to the present owner,
Sitestar.net, based in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Control and understanding seemed to go by the wayside, as the newer
owners seemed to have no clue as to how the previous owners were
doing things.
Last week the DNS - Domain Name Server(s) - for readysetsurf.com just
"went away", as Bill Bytheway phrased it.
He got the information that there was a new DNS for readysetsurf.com
and I immediately changed all the settings here to the new addresses,
and got e-mail back.
ITTY at 207.207.72.32 still works within readysetsurf.com, but is not
accessible from the rest of the world. Bill keeps the circuit up by
loading his old test files, blond jokes, and etc. into the system,
but that isn't the same as what we once were able to do.
Today I approached the biggest of the local internet providers and
found that I can get a static IP, e-mail and so forth for about the
same cost as with readysetsurf.com, and have everything local so if
something screws up I can run down to their facility and beat my fist
on the counter and get some immediate attention.
I have not been able to devote much time to ITTY as of late because I
have been wrapping up my short, second career with Rockwell-Collins.
Yesterday was my last day, and now I am back home permanently and can
now devote a lot of time to all of the toys.
ITTY will soon be back up to snuff, and hopefully much better than
before.
