[GreenKeys] More sound deadening on the Lorenz

The Lorenz LO-15 I recently purchased from a list member had a seirous case of
foam rubber rot, Most of it was missing and the rest had turned to powder. The
good news is it turned to powder, not that sticky goo some foam turns into.

As per a suggestion made by Randy, I purchased a 4 foot piece of 1/2" foam
from the Aircraft Spruce and Specialty Company. Kind of pricey, but then, you
get what you pay for.

16 sq ft seems to be just the right amount to recover the insides of the roll
top
cabinet the Lorenz came in. And 1/2" foam seems to be just right. Next step
is to cruise down ot the RV place and see if I can find some 3/8" x 1" closed
cell foam they use to line the tops of pickup truck beds for campers. That
looks to be the right material for edge of the bootom of the cover. Even with
a 3/8" gap around the cover (currently) the amount of noise reduction is
truly amazing.

Scotch 3M worked perfectly to glue the stuff on. And gives you just enough
time to move or reposition (once) to get it in place correctly.

I'll post some pictures to my bwebsite when I finish.

Thanks for the help everyoe so far.
