Larry,
I don't think that the TT-76 had a civilian/commericial version. It is a
typing reperforator with tape reader. It was designed & manufactured by
Kleinschmidt Laboratories for the US Army c1957-1990 and was the major
component of the AN/GGC-3. (Kleinschmidt tape readers did not have a
"distributor" like the early Teletype Corp units, their tape readers were
more like the Teletype M28 tape readers.)
Edward Kleinschmidt was one of the founders of the Teletype Corp.
(Kleinschmidt Electric Co merged with the Morkrum Co. in 1924 to form the
Morkrum-Kleinschmidt Co, which later shortened its name to "Teletype
Corp.") After WWII, the US Signal Corps realized the importance of TTY
communications, but wanted a smaller, lighter weight, unit than the
Teletype Corp. M15. Edward Kleinschmidt came out of retirement, started
Kleinschmidt Labroratories, won the US Signal Corps bid and started
producing TTYs for the the US Army in 1954.
The Kleinschmidt tactical page printer was the TT-4 (AN/PGC-1) and the
"fixed" station page printer was the TT-98 (AN/UGC-4; AN/FGC-25). The
TT-98 did have a commercial version, the model 150. The selector magnets
of the TT-76 and the TT-98 series are probably the same (but I'd have to
check the TMs to be sure.)
A little history lesson for you.
Have fun,
