[GreenKeys] MORSE interface

Derek,
I took a look at the KOB diagram for the "modem interface". There's a gadget on
Ebay that would do the job almost perfectly (for the sounder/key interface).
It has an RS232 interface and converts it to a 20/30ma. 30 VDC loop (full
or half duplex). Try looking at "current loop" on Ebay and search for
the Black Box CL-50 that's selling for around $5.00.
I suspect that if it's optioned for half duplex and the key and sounder are
wired in series, it'll do the same thing as the KOB circuit. It will
even provide the loop voltage. Can't beat the
$5.00 price. We're TTY'ers can't use it since it cannot key a HV TTY loop.
However, it would work for a Model 33 which uses a 20ma. 30 VDC
loop. I believe one of the Greenkeyers had developed a HV interface...?
(I'm hampered from doing any experimenting until the shack is set up...)

Jack K0TTY

> Hi Everyone,
> I am active on the Morse Telegraph Club's dial up network for the past 15 years. If anyone is interested in landline American Morse, you would be welcome to join us. All you need is a dialtone, a small converter circuit and a Bell 103 modem. We pound brass the old fashioned way! Until this year we had a 106 year old

> We have kicked around the idea of putting the selector magnets of a TTY on our circuit to see if we could make it go....upcoming project for the winter months. If anyone on the list would be interested in working with me on this over the winter, I'd be interested in talking with them. Unfortunately, I have no free
