[GreenKeys] M33 disable printing when punching?

Is there a mod or recommended practice for disabling printing when the
M33's punch is enabled?

I'm sure in the old days when a M33 was new, nobody really worried about
printing junk while they were punching a tape.  Today, I'm a little more
concerned about using up ribbon, paper and life of the print mechanism
when I am punching a tape.

I'm curious if there is a relatively non-intrusive mod that could be
done that would disable the printer when the punch is turned on...?

I will also consider an external control-- such as a relay that
gets activated by a signal from my controlling computer that would
choose between printing and punching...  but it seems, at least for my
applications, that punching and printing are exclusive operations and the
act of enabling the punch would be sufficient to disable the printing...
