[GreenKeys] code bars... "reprogramming"...

Do to a recent repair - I find that all five of the code bars in my 28 
keyboard need to be modified - specifically the 37th "tooth" needs to be 
removed.  I know this can be easily done with the code bars "in hand" - 
but that (getting them "in hand") is a fairly major task (completely 
pulling the keylever frame assembly for starters). Has anyone 
successfully broken off a tooth (teeth) from the code bars while they 
are "in place"? Care to share a "tip"?
