[GreenKeys] a small device that can send RTTY...

Hi Jason. I too have been looking at the arduino. Also the picaxe. Both
have higher level languages that are easier for folks like us to work
with. They both seem really neat. Like wa2hwj, I am interested in making
a rtty clock. The clock would take the date/time and interrupt a loop to
deliver the date and time to be printed, either periodically or at a
press of a button.

I have other ideas for these types of controllers including a remote
DDS-based VFO for my central electronics 100V transmitter with, of
course, nixie tube frequency display.

I have not done any projects with either so I can't effectively comment
much on them.

So many fun projects, so little time!

Eugene

Subject: [GreenKeys] a small device that can send RTTY...

Hi,

I'm curious to know if anyone lurking on this list who has played with
the Arduino (a microcontroller board, http://www.arduino.cc/ ) has
ever contemplated writing some code where the device would take RS-232
input and send out AFSK Baudot audio.

Perhaps a PC running MMTTY as the receiving end.

I think such a setup would just be neat to play with, but likely has
legitimate uses for telemetry, etc.

My programming skills are pretty meager, but I might take this up
"someday" if no one else has tried it.

Thanks and 73,
Jason kf6pqt
