Informally - Sherry and I ran MARS relays between Nam and S.F. for a
year or so while we were in Guam (73-75). We'd copy incoming to a tape
at home - then re-run it on to S.F. If conditions were not good (and we
got fussed at for running more than a few watts in housing)- we'd run it
to the Proteus' HAM Shack. Only a 100 watts out - but into that huge
Rhombic aimed at S.F. - it was more than enough. We copied tape to a
Klienschmidt TT-179 printing punch/reader set (Also had a model 28KSR
(TT-47) with a 3 speed gearshift and a Klienschmidt TT-117 KSR)... had
standard 28 gear at the shack.
best regards...
