A little more about those CFH TTY and Fax transmissions... I wrote and
continue to maintain the software at the transmit sites. The analog signal
generation hardware is also of my design, and consists of a dual-channel DSP
card each with a 4-wire analog interface with both PSTN interface and
transmitter controls for Carrier On/Off, Power Monitoring, Alarms and other
functions. I also wrote the DSP microcode that generates the actual fax AM
or FM 60/120/240 lpm analog signals - in "Wefax", "Nafax", "AP", "UPI" or
"CCITT" format... we sold a lot of these for WirePhoto use in the early
90's. I used the TI TMS-320 series DSP in a IEEE-996 compatible co-processor
implementation.

The PC software (Windows based) allows the user to setup the entire
transmission schedule, including periods of TTY vs FAX. It also allows the
detection of files they drop in "hot folders" for immediate transmission.

It doesn't look to me as though they are planning to discontinue these
transmissions any time soon - but you never know, do you?

BTW - The best part of all this was having to use my Teletype model 15 set
to demonstrate Y2K compliance back in '99.
