I do not have the time this morning to type up all I know about the 
use of the model 15 by the two major wire services, and I think 
perhaps Jim Haynes might have quite a lot to say as well. Sheldon is 
in my mind the guru of what APs interest and support amounted to.

I will soon give you what I know about the model 15s as used by UPI, 
what happened when Teletype announced the cessation of support for 
them, and the interesting story of how UPI sourced many machines.

I have seen model 15s with serial numbers well above 200,000.

I have one model 15 that has Associated Press property tags on the 
frame.

I have another model 15 that has United Press International property 
tags on the frames.

I have seen them with Postal Telegraph and Western Union and United 
Press property tags.

The 15 is indeed a machine with an amazing history that I hope all of 
those with some info will contribute their knowledge to what has been 
started. They were a communications industry workhorse for well over 
fifty years, and occupy an unparalleled place in communications 
history.
