Try looking up the Harris RF-590A, that is the commercial number for
that unit. I have a printed catalog if anyone needs specifics. The
main differences are firmware (remote protocol support), what are
considered the "standard" options, and IF filter set.
"The R-2368B is designated by CNO as the Navy standard LF/MF/HF receiver
for ship and shore use." At least that's what the Harris 1995 catalog says.
Mike Murphy runs about 50% higher than market price for things like
this. What you get is competent packing, inexpensive shipping, and the
ability to return a unit which either does not work or that you are
unhappy with. These receivers pop up on Ebay from time to time. I have
seen working ones in good condition fetch from $800 to $2000, depending
on who is looking for them at the time of the auction.
If you end up with one, Google around on the web for my preselector
modifications which allow front panel controlled bypass to give you
improved weak signal operation.
