Well I went a lot farther down the slippery slope today - thanks to my
"buddy" John K4OZY who loaned me a model 28 skintight this AM.

I hauled it down to the basement (oof!), futzed around for a while hooking
it up to a CV-89A demod ($9 off ebay) connected to my FRR-59 rcvr (also
ebay), and kluging up a loop supply. Gear on 3 different benches, wire
running all over the place, and all held together with alligator clips, but
eventually it seemed like it ought to work, so I tuned in KSM on 12.631 mc.
Oops, switch from reverse to normal and......
Holy Cow! - recognizable words being printed out of thin air.

I love it - vintage coast station RTTY cross country to 350 lbs of USN rcvr
& demod to a Model 28.
Set the wayback machine to 1959, Sherman!
