I stopped at Paul Settle's place after I left Sacramento.

The machine is essentially complete, and is indeed salvagable.

My personal opinion is, based on what you stated about tools and
such, that you would be disappointed at spending the money and
receiving something that would take a bit of time to re-furbish and
make nice.

The machine had been in some form of polled network, and the
networking modem/controller was not there, just a DB-25 which I
assume would be connected to a modem with an RS-232 port.

The 35s were late production machine which used a type of foam for
sound deadening that would absorb the oil fumes from the machine and
turn to a rather nasty goo.

The only part missing was one of the circuit driver cards from the
LESU.

The machine does have a typing reperforator on the keyboard.

The machine does have a fair amount of oil on it, which acts as a
preservative. Solvent and an air compressor would do wonders for it,
but the cabinet would definitely need a thorough cleaning and
painting.

I was ready to spend the time crating it, but considering the expense
of crating (50 bucks or so for materials) and the shipping costs, you
might have been rather upset at me and the world.

If you want to call Paul and discuss it further, here is the info:

Paul Settle
25662 N. Highway 99
Acampo, Calif.

Cell phone 209-603-6441

That's my opinion.

Call Paul and talk if you are still interested.

Regards,

George - W7TTY

This message also posted on GreenKeys as there might be someone who
would scarf this unit up anyway. There is very little rust in the
guts of the machine.
