Doug,
You make my heart ache for our Model 12 which is in pieces in my
friends garage in Oceanside, CA.
I am having a mental problem with your write up on the UGC 20. In my
head the typing unit had some modifications made to it to fit into the
case. I think that the standard typing unit would fit in a skintight
28 KSR but not in a compact 28 KSR. I remember the side plates and
platen being positioned differently than standard.
You can also help me a bit with the nomenclature, if I remember
correctly the UGC 20 has a multi-contact distributor and takes a
regular 60 milliamp loop. The same unit with a light distributor for
TEMPEST use was the UGC-77
Can you verify this?
Thanks,
Don
