Welcome Dan,

I dunno if people use the mechanicals for lots of QSO's.  I once connected 
to Jack WA2HWJ on 80 meters.  Later, I tried another QSO and the guy dumped 
me.  I suspect he was a glass TTY and had no time for me :>(

I get total euphoria out of restoring them and copying TTY signals.

There's no shortage on expertise on this list.  You'll never go without a 
technical problem solved by this bunch.
