Please do not think me ungrateful.  I would just really like to have  
the machine as original as possible.
I will keep looking for someone to make the original pattern out of a  
modern rubber.

Here is a substitute that works well.  I wish I had thought of it,  
but I saw
it on a machine on ebay a few months ago.

Clear vinyl tubing, available at local hardware store, 7/16 OD, 5/16  
ID, cut
neatly to 3/4 inch long.  Remove the printer ribbon.  After removing  
the old
rubber hammer and residue, warm the tubing in your fingers for a  
minute and
slide it slowly on all the way to the bottom ( T ) of the metal  
hammer.  Install
with the slight outside curve facing the typewheel.  Seems to work  
good so far.
