I've had a FedEx account for nearly 20 years - FedEx ground is an 
attractive alternative to USPS- and these changes are likely to make 
that even more so. UPS I avoid if at all possible.  Their rates have 
long been (IMHO) not too competitive - and you have to pack much more 
defensively as you do for USPS or FedEx to avoid damage. I hope USPS 
hasn't put themselves out of the shipping business with these changes - 
the competition (again IMHO) helped keep other carrier's charges down.
