I was presented with three machines today. One is a Model 15
printer in a Bell System tabletop cabinet - with a woodgrain paint job.
Looks to be in good shape. Motor pinion has number 74912. Is this 60
speed? (I don't have any Teletype documentation on M15 stuff).
The next hunk was the remains of a 14 typing reperf. The top
plate of the selector is missing, as well as some other stuff. If
anybody needs parts, let me know.
The part that I like best is a Model 26 printer. It also has a
Bell System logo on the cabinet. I never had even seen one up close
before. This little booger could even find a spot in my shack - if I can
figure out how to lube/adjust/fix it. It appears to be in good
condition, but I know Zilch about them. There is a label with a ham call
inside of it, so I'm sure it's geared for 60. Were any of them ever run
any other speed?
I never had anything to do with tabletop machines. I have an M15
in a big old "mailbox" cabinet, a couple of 28KSR and a few other items,
but no room in the house - even in my shack - for them.. Maybe some day
the kids will move out... Anyone with some basic info on the '26 that
you can pass my way w/o going to a lot of trouble I would appreciate it.
