You are correct in what you are saying Gary.
There are 3 ways to describe a rtty signal I can think of right off. One
like you are telling of--the actual frequency. The other that is not used
very often it the average of the difference of the mark and space frequency
(sort of an average frequency).
Then the one I have seen used most often in the ham bands is just the
frequency of the dial when the more common audio tone of 2125 hz is fed in
to the audio input of a lsb transceiver.
