Gentlemen:

Just to proove that these things can never be completely beaten to death I would like to point the group to an article that appeared in the March 1980 issue of Ham Radio by Loren Jacobsen who discusses the tilting of the crossed tuning traces and so forth at some length!  And, yes, the fact that I have the reference is part of the complaints that the XYL directs at me over what she calls my (expletive deleted) pile of old magazines.
