While searching for info on the TT-47 (yes, it is a M28 KSR) I found that
K4OZY has put up on his website, the 1000+ page "Directory of
Communications-Electronic Equipment, JANAP 161, March 1953". It lists all
(unclassified) electronic communications equipment used by the US military
as of March 1953, with a picture & two page description of each item.
Includes many WWII items. Equipment is listed by AN/xxx number and also
pre-AN Army & Navy designators. Also lists comercial model numbers, where
available. Many thanks, John!!
Very interesting & informative!! See it at:

One unique piece of TTY gear I noticed, is the TT-71/UG, "Teletypewriter
Printer-Projector". It is a large cabinet with a 2' x 3' rear-projection
screen. It includes a M14 that types on transparent tape, so that the
incoming message can be projected on the screen and read by a large group!
Have fun & 73,
