And how many mobile phones bleep dot dot dot.... dash dash....dot dot 
dot when an SMS text message is received?

On a slightly more modern note my office desktop computer sends what 
sounds like 300 baud  modem tones out of the ooudspeaker when it's sick 
and needs powering off and on again. I haven't yet fathomed out a means 
of transferring it to a modem to find out what it's saying.
