A lot of people have never heard of Nikolai Tesla, and one Thomas Alva 
Edison fervently wished he had never heard of him. They butted heads 
more than once over the best form of distribution for electricity. 
Edison built up a business distributing DC, but Tesla showed that AC 
distribution was much more efficient and safer. Most of his ideas were 
way outside of the mainstream for his time, and some of them still have 
not been fully exploited.
