The plexiglass is definitely authentic for the
15's. When I worked in the Ma Bell TTY gang in
the 70's, most of the guys used the plexiglass
windows as ice scrapers for their trucks(!).
As far as I can recall, the safety glass window was the
standard for the 28's.
